Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan - June 11, 2026: A stone wall built of large, precisely cut blocks rises from a still moat at the Imperial Palace in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The fitted stones form a long, even face in the shade of tall broadleaf trees that grow along the top of the wall. In the foreground, the surface of the moat is covered with small floating plants, scattered with fallen red leaves. Open patches of water between the plants reflect the clouds and the dark tree line. No people appear along the water.
