Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan - June 8, 2026: Plastic baskets of cables, chargers, earphones and small gadgets crowd the entrance of PC SHOP iCon, a computer shop in Soto-Kanda, Chiyoda, Tokyo. Handwritten price tags mark items from 100 yen, and a sign on the right offers earphones for 100 yen. A lit glass cabinet by the door holds mobile phones labeled Sim Free at 3,500 and 5,500 yen, under printed signs reading i-Phone and Wireless Security Cameras. Banners above the door advertise used laptops in Japanese, and a multilingual sign offers to change the display language of Windows computers, noting that the keyboard layout is Japanese. A red Japanese sign over the inner doorway declares that computers are cheap and invites customers to look inside. A red brick floor leads past the baskets to the brightly lit shelves of the store.
