Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, Japan - June 12, 2026: A neon OPEN sign glows at the back of a deep entrance passage leading to Pub Rock Stock in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto. A sandwich board reading PUB ROCK STOCK open stands on the sidewalk in front of a black car with twin stripes on its hood, parked inside the passage with a Kyoto license plate. Motorcycles and a scooter with a front basket fill the right side of the entrance, and a bicycle hangs on the red-lit wall to the left. A handwritten board beside the bar door lists beer at 500 yen, whiskey at 700 yen, closing at 24:00, no table charge, cash only and smoking allowed. A single figure stands at the bar counter under warm lights, while a lantern lamp lights the tiled brick facade outside.
