Ruffled bracket fungi grow in overlapping tan clusters near the end of a dark, decaying log. Their thin, wavy caps stack in tight rows, with pale margins around darker brown centers. The wood beneath them is nearly black, its surface cracked and crumbling, with a patch of pale gray crust beside the lower cluster. Bright green moss covers the top of the log behind the fungi, and a patch of sunlight falls across it. Serrated green leaves enter the frame from the left foreground. More clusters of fungi trail away into the blurred background of dark wood and fallen leaves.
